Matthew Esguerra is a classical soloist, chamber musician, and educator. As a performer, he specializes in collaborative projects with instrumentalists and has helped his soloists win top prizes at concerto competitions. Notable accomplishments include pianist Crystal Zheyu Jiang’s performance of Beethoven’s “Emperor” Concerto with the UMKC Orchestra following her first prize win at the conservatory’s concerto competition, accompanied by Matthew. He has also collaborated with the next generation of musicians, who thereafter received acceptance letters and generous scholarship offers from Juilliard, New England Conservatory, Manhattan School of Music, and many more prestigious institutions.
In addition to Matthew’s numerous accomplishments as a collaborative performer, he nurtures a studio of promising young musicians at the highly acclaimed Opus119 School of Music in Irvine, CA. His students have won first prize at the Barum International Piano Competition as well as top prizes at the Satori Summer Music Festival.
